Prompt

A prompt is everything submitted to an AI model in a request — the typed question plus any pasted text, uploaded files, and context the tool adds automatically.

A prompt is the full input a model receives: the visible question, the paragraphs pasted for context, attached files, and — in embedded assistants — the surrounding document, code, or email thread the tool includes automatically. Users tend to picture the short question; providers receive the whole payload.

That gap is where leakage lives. "Summarize this" is harmless; the client file pasted under it is not. Prompt-level controls exist because the prompt, not the app, is the true data boundary.
